NetPing Issued a Software Update DKSF 70.6.3 DKSF 71.6.3 for UniPing server solution v3/SMS and UniPing server solution v3 Devices

NetPing east Co Ltd.company announces the issue of firmware updates for devices for remote monitoring of server rooms UniPing server solution v3/SMS and UniPing server solution v3. New firmware versions for devices contain implementation of new functionality, corrections of errors and a small design alteration of a device web interface.

What have been changed in the latest version?

DKSF 70.6.3 DKSF 71.6.3 Firmware Version from 25.08.2016:

Innovations and bug fixes that are related to SMS notifications and periodic SMS reports, are represented only in DKSF 70.6.3 version for a UniPing server solution v3/SMS device, which is equipped with a built-in GSM modem.

  • A branch SNMP OID «npGsmSendSmsWin1251» is added for sending random SMS notifications in Cyrillic in Win1251 encoding by an SNMP protocol;
  • A support for sending «long» SMS notifications, SMS reports, and random SMS notifications is implemented. In this firmware, limits for the length of an SMS of 70 characters are removed. Now GSM7 encoding and fragmenting of SMS notifications are supported;
  • An issue of sending adjustable notifications from humidity sensors when connecting sensors to 1-Wire port of a device is eliminated;
  • An issue of receiving a USSD response when implementing SSE is eliminated. In a previous firmware version, a response to requesting a balance of a SIM card has been displayed as «{ussd_responce:"-"}»;
  • A page «SMS» of a web interface in the English firmware version is aligned with a Russian page (firmware version DKSF 70.6.1.A-1);
  • A possibility to control a power of a current loop (1-Wire smoke sensors) through an SNMP protocol (OID «npSmokePower» - a status is corrected from read-only to read-write) is added;
  • An incorrect displaying of values above 32°C from temperature sensors via an SNMP protocol when reading the OID «npThermoValuePrecise» is eliminated;
  • Monitoring of temperature readings from humidity sensors is corrected in the module «Thermo (Hygro) stat» at the page «LOGIC» of a device web interface. In a previous firmware version, the module «Thermo (Hygro) Stat» displayed a status «sensor failure» in this case;
  • An identification of MIB files is corrected to DKSF-70-6-X-X-1 and DKSF-71-6-X-X-1 to correspond to a version number of the firmware;
  • An issue of saving the settings of notifications from humidity sensors in a device web interface is eliminated;
  • An issue of incorrect displaying minus values of a normal temperature range on the page "HUMIDITY SENSORS" of a device web interface is eliminated;
  • A module of adjustable notifications is improved: a reset to default parameters is implemented in the module, incorrect displaying of a notification method in a dialog for setting a rule is eliminated, a correct information substitution from the MIB tree of a device into a text of configured notification is implemented, sending of SNMP TRAP to a repeating server is added.

Firmware Version DKSF 70.6.1 DKSF 71.6.1 from 16.08.2016:

Innovations and bug fixes that are related to SMS notifications and periodic SMS reports, are represented only in the version DKSF 70.6.1 for a UniPing server solution v3/SMS device, equipped with a built-in GSM modem.

  • A module is added for configured notifications with a function of autonomous sending random SMS notifications from sensors, IO lines and relays to specified phone numbers and activating Web hook notifications (a reference to HTTP API) through SNMP TRAP and a cloud repeating service with a possibility to substitute to a text notification or URL evoking the information from the MIB tree of a device;

  • A possibility for receiving values from temperature sensors via SNMP with a complete accuracy up to 1/16 degree (OID «npThermoValuePrecise») is added;
  • A corporate favicon is added to all pages of a device web interface (it is displayed by a browser in a tab before displaying a name of a page);

  • Displaying a device name is added to the address of a source of e-mail notifications and in periodic e-mail reports with the aim to precisely identify a device while receiving notifications;
  • An information about a built-in relay is added to a periodic SMS report about a status of sensors and IO lines;
  • A mechanism for receiving too long USSD response to a command of requesting a balance of a SIM card. Now a USSD response, which did not fit a buffer of a device is cut in its length and displayed. In previous firmware versions, such USSD response has been simply dropped;
  • A possibility to get temperature from humidity sensors is added to the module «Thermo (Hygro) Stat» on the page «LOGIC» of a device web interface;
  • A functionality «Disable all notifications» is improved. Now this setting has spread to SMS notifications from a built-in relay and the module «Watchdog»;
  • An issue of incorrect determining of readings of a relative humidity is eliminated in the module «Thermo (Hygro) Stat» on the page «LOGIC» of a device web interface;
  • Events of a system log of a device in English firmware versions are completely translated to English;
  • A TCP client and a module for sending e-mail notifications are updated. As a result, a probability of failures of a device is decreased when sending long e-mail notifications (reports);
  • A filed «Date» is added to the heading of an e-mail notification, which corresponds to the moment of the event to take place. This innovation helps to determine a precise time of triggering of sensors, IO lines and relays of a device;
  • On the page «SMS» of a device web interface a representation of a status of the module «Pinger» is added. A status is updated in the real-time mode;
  • A spontaneous reboot of a device when receiving a too long SMS notification, which caused overfilling of a buffer, is eliminated;
  • On the page «SMS» of a device web interface, a functionality for sending a textual SMS message is added («Test SMS» button) with a goal to test an operability of a built-in GSM modem instantly;
  • A support of four humidity sensors is added to the module «Thermo (Hygro) Stat» on the page «LOGIC» of a device web interface;
  • An event about sending a periodic e-mail report about a status of sensors, IO lines, and relays is added into a log file of a device;
  • A possibility to store a backup copy of a device configuration with a compatibility control of a firmware version and restoring a configuration through a binary image in file is implemented;
  • Coding of a time value of uninterrupted operation of a device in SNMP packages (OID «sysUpTime») at big values, which take 32 bits precisely, is improved;
  • To make a work of a technical support more convenient, the information about a firmware version and a hardware version is added to headings of all pages of a device web interface;
  • A page of a web interface for IO lines in the English firmware version is aligned with a Russian page;
  • A text of a periodic SMS report from smoke sensors is updated. Now a term «CS(SMOKE)» is replaced by «AN-SMOKE» for an analogue smoke sensor, «1W-SMOKE» for 1-Wire smoke sensors;
  • A text of a periodic e-mail report from IO lines for a better informativeness is updated - the way of displaying an operation mode of IO lines is changed;
  • A text of a periodic email report from a relay for a better informativeness is updated - the way of displaying control modes of a relay is changed;
  • Limits are set for a maximum acceptable length of characters in memos of IO lines on the page «DISCRETE IO» of a device web interface;
  • A support of Cyrillic and certain special characters in the fields for usernames and a password pf a device web interface is implemented;
  • An informational notification is added to a system log of a device about dropping e-mail notifications: «sendmail: message has dropped, SMTP server IP unknown». Now such message appears only when an address of an SMTP server is not specified in the settings on the page «E-MAIL», or a system cannot receive an IP address of an SMTP server on the basis of a DNS name.
