A NetPing company announces releasing a firmware update for a device of remote controlling power supply sockets NetPing 4/PWR-220 v4/SMS. This firmware version contains new functionality implementation, error fixes and layout update of certain pages of a web interface.
What has been changed in the latest version?
DKSF 54.2.3 Firmware Version from 14.01.2016:
- Controlling sticking of built-in relays is disabled because of cases of false determining of relay failures at certain types of external loads. A notification «PWR Attention! Relay N is stuck at the status switched off!» will not be displayed in a log of a device;
- A TCP client and a module for sending e-mail notifications are updated. As a result, failures of a device when sending long e-mail notifications are prevented;
- An issue of losing an access to a device via a network when changing network settings of a device when saving a new configuration by buttons that do not belong to the section «Network setup» at the page «Setup» of a device web interface is eliminated;
- The operability of the module «Shedule» is restored. In the previous firmware version time settings of switching on and switching off were not saved;
- An issue with mixed SNMP TRAP notifications from humidity sensors (according to temperature) is eliminated. In a previous firmware version checkboxes «Use common snmpTrapOID for all events» and «Use common snmpTrapOID for all channels» were mixed up;
- An issue of sending random SMS notifications by HTTP API and an SNMP protocol when there is no destination number in square brackets before a text of an SMS notification is eliminated. Now if there is no destination number in square brackets at the beginning of a message, a message is sent to the destination numbers, specified at the page «SMS» of a device web interface;
- A current map of a status of humidity sensors is recovered in a periodic e-mail report. In a previous firmware version a current status of humidity sensors was displayed incorrectly;
- The operability of the «input» «AC PWR» of a logic rule is recovered. Now it is possible to use availability of 220 V power at the input of a device in the simplest automated tasks in the «Logic» module;
- In SNMP OID variables «npSmokePower» and «npRelayFlip», it is now possible to record values with the aim to control a power supply of smoke sensors and switching a relay into the opposite status. Previously, variables «npSmokePower» and «npRelayFlip» were falsely available for reading only;
- In the MIB file of a current firmware version, an SNMP OID branch «npPowerMon» is added for sensors for monitoring a quality of 220V;
- Disappearing of a part of last events of a system log when resetting parameters of a device into a default value is eliminated;
- A service interface is opened for users to work with AT commands of a built-in GSM modem /at.html. Now it is possible to send commands to a modem and browse a result. AT commands are sometimes necessary to determine a firmware version of a modem, get an IMEI number, forcedly choose a GSM range and similar tasks;
- An issue with saving settings in English firmware at the page «SMS» of a device web interface is eliminated;
- Now HTTP API commands of relay management return the error correctly when attempting to control absent relay with a number 5 in a device. In previous firmware versions, relay management commands with the number 5 always returned the response «relay_result('ok');»;
- In the MIB file of a current firmware version, a description of an SNMP OID variable «npGsmSendSms» is updated: «Cyrillic encoding must be UTF-8»;
- A notification «Input mains AC power is absent! Relays are switched off!» is added at the page «Relays» of a device web interface. This notification appears when built-in relays are de-energized because of a lack of 220 V voltage at the input of a device.
Firmware Version DKSF 54.2.1 from 11.09.2015:
- A support for four 1-Wire smoke sensors with a totally integrated notification system and rules for using smoke sensors in the module «Logic» is added;
- A support for four 1-Wire sensors of 220 V network voltage quality is added to monitor a current voltage value, a network power supply frequency, short-term (from 50Hz half-cycle) failures and overvoltage in a power supply network (beta support);
- A support of four 1-Wire humidity sensors with separate notifications for a relative humidity and temperature is added;
- URL-encoded commands (HTTP API) for humidity sensors were changed:
- Requesting readings of a relative humidity:
/relhum.cgi?hn
where: n - is a number of a humidity sensor - Requesting readings of a temperature:
/relhum.cgi?tn
where: n - is a number of a humidity sensor
- Requesting readings of a relative humidity:
- In the MIB file of a current firmware version, an SNMP OID branch «npRelHumidity» is updated for four 1-Wire humidity sensors;
- In the field «From:» of e-mail notifications a device name is added, which is set at the page «Setup» of a web interface;
- A module for sending e-mail notifications is implemented. Now it supports:
- the operation with SMTP servers without authorization. For doing this, a username and a password are not indicated in the settings at the page «E-mail» of a device web interface;
- the authentication method AUTH LOGIN, besides AUTH PLAIN
- A response to an SMS command of requesting a relay status «NETPING Pn? <community>». Now a response contains the information about a mode (a source) of a relay management and the information about a current relay status («+» – a relay is switched on, «-» – a relay is switched off);
- An algorithm of rebooting a device is redesigned. A chance of a device to freeze when updating a firmware version is decreased (freezing is possible when updating, which is safe for functioning of NetPing devices);
- An information about a model, a firmware version, and an IMEI of a built-in GSM modem is added to a debugging log of a device, which is displayed at the firmware start;
- An HTTP API command of a USSD request: /ussdstart.cgi?requestcode is added, where request code is, for example, a100x, which means *100#. In the code of the USSD request, «*» is replaced by «a», «#» is replaced by «x» (Latin characters). This possibility allows, for example, to execute requesting a balance of the SIM card by HTTP API;
- A text of SMS notifications from temperature sensors is updated. Now SMS notifications are sent to a destination number as a notification «TEMP.SENSOR j "label" BELOW/IN/ABOVE RANGE (t1 TO t2C), NOW tC»;
- The operability of an SMS command «NETPING N? <community>» of requesting a status of a pinger is restored at the page «SMS». Now the command returns a current status of a requested device, as well as a DNS name or an IP address of a polled network node;
- When resetting a device to default settings, a corresponding notification is added to a system log «Parameters of a device are reset to default values (starting while the button Reset is clicked)»;
- An information notification is added to a system log of a device about resetting e-mail notifications: «sendmail: message has dropped, SMTP server IP unknown». Now such notification appears when an SMTP server address is not set in the settings at the page «E-mail», or a system cannot get an IP address of an SMTP server from a DNS based on its domain name;
- An NTP server ntp.netping.ru is added into NTP settings at the page «Setup» of a device web interface as a default server for synchronizing the clock;
- A support of Cyrillic characters in SMS notifications from sensors is added. A length of any SMS notification is limited to 70 Latin and Cyrillic characters both;
- A support of UTF-8 encoding is added for sending random Cyrillic SMS notifications via an SNMP protocol or an HTTP API (/sendsms.cgi?utf8);
- An issue of an incorrect forming of a periodic e-mail report about a status of sensors is eliminated if a report does not include any sensor. Now an empty report with the text «- empty report» is sent instead of an incorrectly formed report.
NetPing company recommends updating the firmware of a NetPing 4/PWR-220 v4/SMS device to the latest version. Updates are available at the official website in a description of a device in the section «Documentation and files». We hope that updating to the latest firmware version will increase the quality and reliability of a device operation.
