NetPing Issued Firmware Update DKSF 48.4.5 for Device NetPing 8/PWR-220 v4/SMS

The company NetPing announces issuing an updated version of firmware DKSF 48.4.5 for a device NetPing 8/PWR-220 v4/SMS. This firmware version contains significant error fixes, new functionality introduced and an updated design of a device web interface.

What has been changed in the latest version?

Firmware Version DKSF 48.4.5 from 17.07.2015:

  • Freezing of an algorithm of transferring a group of sockets to the alternate input while a module «Watchdog» is working with a minimal polling period is eliminated. Duration of removing voltage from built-in relays is changed from 12 seconds to 1 second. This pause does not interfere anymore with a working algorithm of transferring a group of sockets for an alternate input;
  • A functionality «Disable all notifications» is completed. Earlier, enabled configuration did not influence the module «Watchdog», which was sending SMS notifications about reloading of a built-in relay;
  • Freezing of a web interface when changing an IP address is eliminated, and when saving a changed configuration at the page «SETUP», a button «Apply changes» from another group of settings was clicked;
  • A limit of 127°C for a range of adjusted temperature thresholds is specified at the page «TEMPERATURE SENSORS». Before, when entering threshold values more than 127°C in a device web interface, incorrect values were displayed;
  • Revision of a translation of a device web interface in English firmware version at the pages «AC OUTLETS» and «LOGIC» in logic rules

What has been changed in intermediate versions?

Firmware Versions DKSF 48.4.4, DKSF 48.4.3, DKSF 48.4.2, DKSF 48.4.1, DKSF 48.3.2, DKSF 48.2.7:

  • A limit for entering Cyrillic letters into the field «User name», «Password», «Community reads» and «Community writes» to avoid losing an access to a device;
  • An update for a parameter «Watchdog triggering, turning on/turning off a relay» for «watchdog triggering, turning on/ off a relay, inputs backup», located at the page «SMS» of a device web interface;
  • A notification system from the 1-Wire humidity sensor. Before, notifications for an event «Sensor failure» were not sent by a device;
  • Reloading of built-in relays is canceled when updating the firmware of a device. Reloading is efficient only if firmware DKSF 48.2.5 was installed when manufacturing a device, including improved firmware loader;
  • An incorrect work of the module «Watchdog» when configuring a reset mode «Relay one» is fixed. Earlier, «Watchdog» could not reload within this configuration;
  • A possibility to specify an operation mode «Logic output» is added for built-in relays 5-8 using URL-encoded commands (HTTP API) /relay.cgi?rn=5, where n is a real number;
  • A functionality «As a previous day» is completed in the configuration window of the module «Schedule». Now when a checkbox «As a previous day» is disabled, previously configured time is not removed from the table;
  • A functionality «Disable all notifications» is completed. Now when the setting «Disable all notifications» is enabled, notifications are received only by a logfile of a device and Syslog. Before, all notifications were disabled;
  • A branch «npIrControl» is added to a MIB file, which allows getting OID to replay recorded commands of the IR extension module via SNMP;
  • Operability of the SMS command «NETPING Kn <community>», which allows to transfer a command from the phone through an IR extension module IRC-TRv2 for a remote controlling of devices with infrared (IR) interface;
  • Control of a duration of a relay reset by URL-encoded command (HTTP API) /relay.cgi?r1=f,30 is recovered. Previously, a reset duration did not depend on a specified numeric value after a comma. A reset pulse was always 15 seconds;
  • A URL-encoded command (HTTP API) for switching an IO line into an operation mode «logic output» is updated. Now a command looks like the following: /io.cgi?io4&mode=2;
  • An SMS notification from the module «Pinger» is updated. Now an address of a checked host is added into a text of an SMS notification;
  • An operability of an SMS command «NETPING N? <community>» to request a pinger status at the page «SMS» is recovered. Now the command returns a current status.
  • A service interface is opened for users to work with AT commands of a built-in GSM modem /at.html. Now it is possible to send commands to a modem and browse a result. AT commands are sometimes necessary to determine a firmware version of a modem, receive an IMEI number, choose a GSM range forcedly, etc;
    Obtaining IMEI through AT commands in a NetPing 8PWR-220 v4SMS device
  • Incorrect messages in a system file of a device about changing a management mode of a relay are fixed. In the previous firmware version DKSF 48.4.1, notifications about changing a management mode of relay were displayed as «relay 1 is switched to the mode "unknown"»;
  • A relay memo in dialogs for configuring a module «Watchdog» and «Schedule» is moved to the heading of a popup dialog;
    A relay memo in dialogs for configuring a module «Watchdog» and «Schedule» is moved to the heading of a popup dialog

  • Displaying a current operation mode of an IO line is repaired in an e-mail report about a status of sensors within a condition that an IO line is configured in an operation mode «logic output». Before, a mode «output» has been displayed in an e-mail report about a status of sensors;
  • An information about a current status of a relay («+» – relay is on, «-» – relay is off) is added to respond to SMS commands requesting a relay status «NETPING Pn? <community>» and «NETPING P? <community>»;
  • A text describing how to determine a unique number of a new sensor at the page «1-WIRE» of a device web interface is updated;
  • Four 1-Wire smoke sensors are supported now with totally integrated notification system and rules in the module «Logic»;
  • An amount of modules «Watchdog» and «Schedule» is increased to eight. Now modules «Watchdog» and «Schedule» can control each built-in relay of a device independently. Modules are configured in pop-up dialogs at the page «220V Management» of a device web interface;
  • Support of a relay management mode «Logic output» is extended for all eight built-in relays;
  • SMS notifications from IO lines are updated. Now a text of SMS notification contains the information about encoding a logic level of an IO line;
  • A memo is added to inputs at the page «220V Management» of a device web interface;
  • In a text of an SMS notification from a power backup logic the information about encoding inputs is now displayed;
  • Sending random SMS notifications by SNMP and third-party web applications (HTTP API) is implemented;
  • Cyrillic is now supported for SMS notifications. Maximum length is 70 characters both for Latin and Cyrillic letters. Now signatures of sensors, relays and IO lines are correctly displayed in Cyrillic in the text of SMS notifications;
  • URL-encoded commands (HTTP API) for IO lines have been changed:
    1. Controlling an operation mode of an IO line (a number of a line is indicated before &):
      /io.cgi?ion&mode=0
      /io.cgi?ion&mode=1
      /io.cgi?ion&mode=2
      where: n is a number of an IO line, 0 is an input; 1 is an output with a manual control; 2 is a logic output
    2. Specifying a logic level at the output to the indicated value (when working in the mode «1»):
      /io.cgi?ion=0
      /io.cgi?ion=1
      where: n is a number of an IO line
    3. Switching a logic level at the output (when working in the mode «1»):
      /io.cgi?ion=f
      where: n is a number of an IO line
