Intermittent Operation of the Ventilation System on the Basis of a New Module "Logic" of a NetPing Power Distribution Unit

A logic module of the firmware of NetPing devices is designed for a simple automation, and can perform such tasks as maintaining a micro-climate, controlling an automatic switching on/switching off backup equipment and many more. Logic works on the basis of the rules programmed by the user through a web interface. In the new firmware DKSF 54.3.2 for NetPing 4/PWR-220 v4/SMS power distribution unit, a new module "Logic" is implemented with additional features, which are powerful and flexible. In the nearest future, this module will be applied to other NetPing models.

Task: intermittent operation of the ventilation system with the switching on every hour for five minutes. This can be useful during a cold season and for minimizing power consumption and maximizing a lifetime of fans.

Operation Algorithm of a Solution:

  1. When switching NetPing 4/PWR-220 v4/SMS on, the element of new Logic Timer/Counter 1 starts and Relay 1 is switched on, through which a ventilation system is connected;
  2. When 300 seconds (5 minutes) are over, Relay 1 is switched off;
  3. When 3600 seconds (1 hour) from the beginning of the operation are over, the Timer/Counter 1 is reset to 0, and the process is repeated again in an endless cycle.

Specify the first and the second rules in the block «Rules»:

When switching a NetPing 4/PWR-220 v4/SMS device on, Timer/Counter 1 starts. When the Timer/Counter 1 has the value 1, Relay 1 to which a ventilation system is connected, switches on. Let's check the first and the second check boxes and choose a condition by a mouse, as it is shown in the example below:

The third rule:

When the Timer/Counter 1 reaches the value 301 (5 minutes after starting the counter), Relay 1, to which a ventilation system is connected, is switched off. Let's check the third checkbox and choose a condition with a mouse, as it is shown in the example below:

The fourth rule

When the Timer/Counter 1 reaches the value 3600 (1 hour after the start of the counter), Timer/Counter 1 is restarted from 0, and the operation cycle of the ventilation is restarted. Let's check the fourth checkbox and choose a condition by a mouse as shown in the example below:

Click the button «Apply changes» (1) under the block «Rules» to apply the rules, then check the checkbox "Enable logic" (2) and click the button "Apply changes" (3) in the block "Logic" to start the operation of a programmed Logic:

As a result of the onfigurations descried above, the ventilation system that is connected to a NetPing 4/PWR-220 v4/SMS device, will work in the intermittent mode.
