NetPing Monitoring Solution GSM3G R61 is a device for remote microclimate monitoring in a server room. Temperature sensors, humidity sensors, and quality monitoring sensors allow monitoring the operating conditions of equipment in a server room. Door metal sensors, PIR detectors will give notice of unauthorized access to the server room. Smoke detectors and liquid sensors will allow receiving timely notifications about any emergency situations.
In some cases, NetPing Monitoring Solution GSM3G R61 can take necessary action automatically to restore equipment to optimal operating conditions.
A key factor for the continuous operation of equipment in the server room is the monitoring physical conditions of this equipment. If you install NetPing Monitoring Solution GSM3G R61 in your server room, you can always be sure that the operating conditions of your equipment are optimal!
NetPing Monitoring Solution GSM3G R61 is usually used to:
monitor a server room, data center, computer equipment as well as objects with industrial equipment (for example, an automatic telephone system) with setting up the simplest automation.
Applicable solutions:
monitoring physical conditions of server and network equipment in real-time;
restrictions of access to cabinets and boxes with equipment;
monitoring and control of the availability of power supply;
notifications of responsible people about emergency situations (email, SNMP TRAP, local notifications);
manual and automatic remote control of ventilation systems and microclimate maintenance systems (maintaining a certain temperature);
manual and automatic remote control by means of external plug-in power sockets NetPing AC/DIN to turn on, turn off or reboot frozen equipment;
integration with a central monitoring system for network and server infrastructure (Zabbix, PRTG Network Monitor, Nagios, and so on).
Connecting sensors and monitoring functions of NetPing Monitoring Solution GSM3G R61:
Email-, SNMP TRAP, Syslog notifications about sensors triggering
When the sensors connected to the device are triggered, they can send the following notifications:
Email - the device can send email messages directly via the SMTP server. Both notifications of sensor triggering and periodic reports on its status are sent by email.
SNMP TRAP - is convenient to use for integration with monitoring systems as well as for performing automatic actions on a PC (for example, to start playing a sound notification) using special software.
Syslog - using special software on a PC (a syslog server), all messages from sensors can be saved as a text file for further analysis, and you can use other features of this standard.
Temperature sensors
External temperature sensors are extremely popular sensors in monitoring systems. You can control a temperature mode of an important equipment operation, receive timely notifications about failures and malfunctions in a microclimate control system, diagnose cooler systems failures and accidental overlaps of ventilation flows with their help.
Supply voltage sensor
This sensor allows you to detect the voltage presence or absence in the power socket to which the sensor is connected. A common function for this sensor is to receive notifications when a power failure occurs. In this case, the NetPing device itself must be powered from a UPS, battery, or backup power line.
Power quality monitoring sensor
A power monitoring quality sensor is designed to monitor an effective value of voltage and frequency of a power supply network. The sensor is able to detect short-term dips and overvoltage in a power supply network. A common function of this sensor is to receive notifications when there is a deviation from the parameters in the mains supply. In this case, the device itself must be powered from a UPS, battery, or backup power line.
Door sensor metal
It carries out security and monitoring functions, helps to track the fact of opening/closing a door to a server room or a door of a switchboard with equipment.
Liquid sensor
It allows you to detect the body of water on the floor of the server room or at the bottom of the switchboard. In case of flooding (an accident in the water supply or heating system), this sensor allows you to warn the responsible employee properly about an abnormal situation. Moreover, this sensor can be useful for monitoring water leakage from a condensing system of an air conditioner.
Smoke detector
It allows you to detect any smoke content in a room. With NetPing devices, it is usually used as a backup sensor for monitoring. To implement the functions of security and fire systems, you must use appropriate equipment!
Humidity sensor
It
allows you to estimate the relative humidity of ambient air. This
sensor is usually used to monitor the optimal operating conditions of
computer equipment in server rooms.
User-friendliness, easy integration in existing systems, reliability:
The device works 24 hours, 7 days a week, without freezing
The device was designed for continuous operation in an unattended room in a 24/7 operating mode. A built-in power supervisor protects the device from freezing when there are voltage surges. We do not implement third-party resource-intensive operating systems into the device, we write the whole code on our own, and it is optimized as much as possible for this functionality.
A built-in webserver
The configuration and management of the device are carried out via a browser. You do not need any special software. It works in any OS (Windows, Linux, Mac).
Connection to the Ethernet network, a static IP address
The device is connected to an ordinary office Ethernet network, to any free Ethernet port on the switch. If you publish the IP address of the device on the Internet, you can control the sockets of the device from anywhere in the world.
2 Ethernet ports on the device case
They allow using one port for connecting this device to an Ethernet switch, and the second port can be used as a regular Ethernet port for connecting any Ethernet devices, including other NetPing devices, in a "chain". This can be especially useful when all the switch ports are already busy: NetPing can be plugged into a switch, and a network device can be connected to a free NetPing Ethernet port.
Authorization and access restriction
Access to the web interface of the device is protected by a user-configurable login and password. In order to get to the web interface of the device, you need to log in. In addition, you can restrict access to the device, leaving the ability to access only from a specific IP subnet.
SNMP support
SNMP protocol is widely used in systems for collecting information about network equipment. The device supports commands for managing and receiving information from sensors via the SNMP protocol. The device easily integrates with such network monitoring systems as Zabbix, PRTG Network Monitor, OpenNMS, Nagios, Cacti, The Dude, Monit, and similar ones, which receive information about the status of sensors connected to the device via the SNMP protocol.
Syslog support
This protocol, together with the special software on the server, can be used to collect text logs (logs) of the operation of various devices in the network including NetPing devices. This can be very useful for collecting and analyzing statistics.
URL-encoded commands support
The device supports sockets control and receiving information from sensors using special HTTP commands. These commands allow you to control the device from any web page developed by the user including those taken from any mobile application.
Built-in firmware updating
The device supports firmware update via the device web interface. We periodically release firmware updates. They are free.
Non-volatile event log
All events (switching devices on and off, information from sensors) are stored in the non-volatile memory. The information will be stored even in case of a power failure.
Non-volatile clock and time synchronization with NTP
In order to execute commands at a strictly defined time ("Schedule" module), it is very important that the clock on the device does not go astray. Timestamps are also used for log entries. The device has both its own built-in non-volatile clock and the ability to synchronize automatically with an external time server using the NTP protocol.
Using an external battery
The device is equipped with a special terminal for connecting an external battery module (the module must be purchased separately), which allows you to connect an external battery to the device. An external battery can be used to send notifications from sensors in the absence of the main power supply for a sufficiently long period of time (depending on the capacity of this connected battery).
Connecting a sensor adapter to an analog interface
It allows you to connect analog sensors that transmit a signal by changing the flowing current, voltage, or resistance. It was designed to connect additional smoke sensors to the device.
Automation of the base of NetPing Monitoring Solution GSM3G R61:
Automation and execution of logic rules (LOGIC)
The device allows you to set some logical rules that will be executed automatically. For example, when a temperature parameter on a temperature sensor is exceeded, it can turn on the voltage, turn on the warning siren or indicator light, and when the temperature returns to normal, it can turn off the notification automatically. These rules make it possible to implement the simplest automation systems on the basis of the device.
Automatic management of external devices via SNMP
Logic
rules built in the devices allow you to control other NetPing devices
over the network by sending them a snmpset command when a condition is
triggered. For example, this can be useful to turn on an
indication/notification in another building when a sensor is triggered
in a server room. It doesn't matter where the device with the sensor is
or where the display device is: if they have a network connection, the
command will be executed.
