NetPing POE 5 Switch GB322 is a five-port Ethernet switch housed in a compact metal case. A special feature of this switch is support for POE technology both for receiving power by the switch itself and for providing the devices connected to it with POE power.
NetPing POE 5 Switch GB322 itself can
be powered by POE technology, i.e. it is enough to connect it the
Ethernet network with POE support, and you do not need any additional power supply for the switch itself. It is possible to connect an external power adapter to this switch for using it in cases where the network does not support the POE standard. In this case, a simultaneous power supply from the POE and the adapter is allowed. Refer to User Guide for more details.
NetPing POE 5 Switch GB322 as a power supply unit (POE injector) for four ports
If you connect Power adapter 48V 1.5A to NetPing POE 5 Switch GB322, it can work as a POE injector in the network, i.e. “adding” power to the Ethernet cable. In this mode, the four ports of NetPing POE 5 Switch GB322 are capable to supply POE power to four external devices! For example, four external IP cameras or several VoIP phones can be supplied with POE power.
POE 5 Switch GB322 as a base for building an Ethernet network of an arbitrary configuration
NetPing POE 5 Switch GB322 is able to transmit POE power to connected devices including the same NetPing POE 5 Switches GB322
which can be switched off after the first one. This feature allows you
to build a full-fledged Ethernet network of an arbitrary configuration
on the base of NetPing POE 5 Switch GB322, branching it with additional NetPing POE 5 Switches GB322 where needed without connecting the external power supplies to them.
This device is used for connecting to Ethernet and at the same time providing POE power to external network devices (Ethernet), such as VoIP phones, Wi-Fi access points, IP cameras, Ethernet switches, and routers. In comparison with conventional POE injectors which typically supply power to one POE device, NetPing POE 5 Switches GB322 can supply POE power to four devices at the same time. Moreover, it has a compact size and minimal cost.
You can also use it as a base for building Ethernet networks without being dependent on a household network of 220 V. Due to the ability to power several switches from each other with a chain, it is possible to create Ethernet networks where there are no free sockets for connecting power adapters from conventional switches.
- If you need to extend the Ethernet link for more than 100m you can also
use this device. According to the Ethernet standard, there should be no more than a 100-meter cable between two Ethernet ports. If needed to extend the cable for a longer distance, you can use NetPing POE 5 Switch GB322 in every 100m. The ability of NetPing POE 5 Switches GB322 itself to receive power using POE technology and transmit power to the next NetPing POE 5 Switches GB322 allows you to work without supplying, connecting these intermediate nodes with any external power.
